Songs for Guang Zhou International Choir Competition Had Been Decided!

Ms. Ece decided to use The Lord Bless You & Keep You by John Rutter and Gloria 3. Both are very beautifully composed songs and very difficult to sing. Ms. Ece trained our voices personally so that all of us together can produce a harmony needed for these songs.

The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord make His face to shine upon you
To shine upon you and be gracious
And be gracious unto you

The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you
The Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you
And give you peace, and give you peace
And give you peace, and give you peace

Amen...

Be Right Back!

I'm going to post soon about the progress of Guang Zhou International Choir Competition and ChiLeague as well. I can't really post now because the first meeting was today and our next is going to be on Wednesday. About ChiLeague, I'm still going to gather more informations about it. Hopefully I'll be posting again as soon as possible. Goodnight!

My Experience of Teaching Buah Hati Students

So about last week, me and my best friend were invited to Buah Hati to sing and play Chinese traditional music instrument. It's a very new experience for me. At first it's a little awkward, but after the second class we started to get the hang of it. What's making it a bit awkward for me its that, the students ask questions like, "What is the name of this instrument?" or "May I try it?" The students are very clever and sometimes they caught me off-handed. I turn around to my friend for help but she just shrug, so I decided to play along. I told them it is Gu Zheng, and if they behave when we perform, they can line up and try it one by one. It was really fun and we also make friends with the lady who teaches the Buah Hati students about Shu Fa, or Chinese calligraphy. We share stories and she told us about legends and myths of China. It is, indeed, new, interesting, and highly intriguing.

So Far, So Good

With school works piling up, I'm surprised I'm still in touch with my family though I barely meet them at all on weekdays. I come home late from school, and they come home from work even later. My highest score so far has to be when Mr. Minh gave us an exercise with a maximum of 61 points (60 questions, 1 bonus) and I scored 62! I heard about ChiLeague a lot recently, so I decided to sign up for it. I also signed up for Guang Zhou International Competition, it's a very good chance to learn new things and improve.
